Review: Massage Gun

My Experience After Multiple Intense Workouts

After a heavy strength training session or a tough run, there’s one thing I always look forward to: proper recovery. Muscle soreness is part of the game, but if I can reduce it and speed up my recovery, I’ll take that opportunity every time. That’s why I decided to test the Deep Tissue Massage Gun. After using it several times post-workout, here’s my honest review.

First impression

The massage gun comes in a compact case with eight attachments and has a clean, matte black finish. It feels solid, fits comfortably in the hand, and the LCD screen makes it easy to adjust the intensity. With 20 speed settings, you can really fine-tune the pressure depending on how sore or tight your muscles are. That was a big plus for me — there’s always a setting that works for how your body feels at that moment.

During use

I used this massage gun after several different workouts: a long endurance run, a HIIT session, and a heavy leg day at the gym. Especially after that last one, I was glad to have this tool.

What I liked:

  • The motor is surprisingly quiet. You can use it without waking the whole house.
  • The eight attachments aren’t just for show — each one has its own function. I use the round head for larger muscle groups like quads and hamstrings, and the bullet head for trigger points around my shoulders and calves.
  • It’s powerful. Even at the lower speeds, you can feel the impact. At higher levels, it gets seriously deep.

What could be better?

Even though it’s a solid device, there are a few minor things that could be improved:

  • The LCD screen works fine, but I would’ve preferred a physical button. If your hands are sweaty, you might tap it by accident.
  • The top speed settings are extremely intense. Not everyone will use them, so a slightly smoother progression between levels would’ve made it even better.

Final verdict: Do I recommend it?

Yes — definitely. For the price and what you get, this is a great device. If you train regularly and take recovery seriously, this is a smart investment. You don’t need a physio for deep tissue work — you can do it at home, on your terms. It genuinely helps my recovery and I feel the difference in how quickly my muscles bounce back.

So yes, I recommend it.
